Furniture Refinishing Projects April 16th-April 22nd Denver, Colorado

As much as I love refinishing pieces that clients bring to me I also love being able to have the freedom to work on pieces I keep in inventory! I try to go shopping weekly so I have fresh inventory but with so many custom orders I haven't had time so Ive been working on pieces I have had in my stash! Here are a few of the designs from this week!

1. Burlap and distressed bench with lift top lid- SOLD

2. French Provincial White Washed Coffee Table (available)- $275

3. Tall Trellis Patterned Gray and White Side Table- SOLD

Inbetween these projects here are two custom client orders. Love how this chair and jewelry armoire turned out! The chair is for a clients desk and the lavender jewelry armoire just needed an updated look. I don't usually do a lot of lavender pieces so it was fun to do something different. My client liked the look of {this} piece so much she had hers refinished similarly with raised 3D stenciling on the swing doors.

Until next week! - Vanessa

French Provincial Shabby Chic Furniture January 22-28th Denver, Colorado

This week I worked on some really cool shabby chic French provincial style furniture pieces. These were all client owned pieces that I refinished to her customized look. This particular client is renovating their master bedroom. When we had our design consult we talked about a few different finishes that would compliment the waisncoting she was putting against the main accent wall. We settled on a greige color (grayish brown) with antiquing. I love the versatility of this color because it goes so well with both browns and grays. For the dresser she really liked the wood stained top idea to contrast against the nightstands. In addition, with all the bedroom pieces I sanded back to a white finish to add extra contrast. Lastly, was a bathroom vanity that she decided to go with a custom mixed navy with gold accents and hardware. I love how all these pieces came out! I cannot wait to see them in her space! -Vanessa

New Rustic Farmhouse Furniture Projects January 9-13th 2017

More prep this week for the {Simply Vintage Market}. I was able to finish these 3 additional projects that I just love and am excited to showcase in my booth! First was an amazing cathedral paneled farmhouse hutch. I went traditional white with light distressing, added new mercury glass hardware and left the natural wood in the hutch top. I thought the natural wood against white dishes would be awesome! Next up was a 5 drawer antique dresser. I decided to sand and re-stain the top in a dark walnut. I painted the body in a duck egg blue and added new hardware. I love the versatility of this blue. Even though it is a color it acts as a neutral because it goes so well with browns and grays. Lastly, I finished up this vintage Lane wood trunk. This piece is beautiful with cedar lining the interior. I sanded and re-stained the top in a medium walnut. The body was first painted gray and then whitewashed overlay. New hardware makes this perfect for an entry way, bedroom or living room! Hope to see you at the market! Farmhouse Furniture & Decor Ideas with Chicken Wire

Hutches and cabinets with chicken wire are some of my favorite things. I love the rustic farmhouse vibe it gives to furniture! Word to the wise: If you plan on tackling this DIY project I suggest wearing gloves and using an air compressor staple gun! Makes the process so much easier and less painful ;) Here is a small collection of some of my most recent projects using the stuff! Which is your favorite?
