Happenings June 11-17

Hi!!!! It has been about a month since I have been able to write and I wanted to fill ya'll in on all the exciting happenings! At the beginning of June a new store called Makers Market in Park Meadows Mall opened. I along with two friends decided to rent out one large space so combined we take up about 1/4 of the store! It is amazing and has been a whirlwind. Since finding out about the store to opening day we had 9 days to get our space figured out. Surprisingly enough even on a time crunch our space turned out beautiful! So the scoop on the store is that it is all local artisans and makers. Each vendor rents a space and sells a variety of different things. You can find anything from furniture, home decor, gourmet food items, clothing and jewelry. Next time you are in the mall be sure to swing by and check it out. It is located on the second level in-between Abercrombie and Mama Anderson on the Nordstrom side of the mall. So what this means for our customers is that you can find us in TWO retail locations! Both locations will feature both our painted and new lines of furniture. As always though if you are unsure where to find something you have seen on our website feel free to reach us at (720) 633-2211. Here are the addresses and info on where to find us:

I added this new line because it has a lot more options for bedroom and dining room furniture, in addition it also has couches and other upholstery items! Furniture Refinishing and Interior Design Projects Denver, Colorado April 30-May 6

This week I am just wrapping a really fun furniture refinishing project for a clients daughter. She is redoing her bedroom and the colors she has chosen are so fun and unique for a girl! Think lots of mint, teal, navy, hot pink and gold! Here are the room renderings:

Traditionally navy wouldn't be a color popular for a girls room but I think with the pops of contrasting colors it is adorable and modern! Here is one of the nightstands I have completed for it:

Another fun project I worked on this week is a sink vanity! The sink that will be set inside is copper so she wanted a dark charcoal base with copper hardware. I love the mixture of these two finishes. Here is how it turned out:

Lastly I worked on one of my own inventory items. I loved this console table because it was two tier so lots of storage and the French style detailing on the legs is so beautiful. This item is for sale and you can view it here:

Another busy week in the books and I was finally able to work on a set of nightstands I had been eyeing in my inventory since the day I got them!  I love mixing neutral colors and these turned out beautifully in gray, walnut and white. I started by sanding and re-staining the tops in walnut. I then custom mixed a gray and painted the bases. I also custom painted some hardware and added some silver glaze to accent the ornate raised details on them. These are up for sale and you can check them out HERE

Another fun project I wrapped up was a custom order dresser. This particular client was having a hard time finding a cabinet large enough to fit in her living room to hold all her sons toys. We decided to remove the bottom drawers so she could add metal baskets that would be easier for him to access his smaller toys. We left the other drawers to hide all his other things likes games and books. The color was a custom mixed gray, don't let the picture fool you as it appears more white! To finish the look the hardware was painted in oil rubbed bronze.

As much as I love refinishing pieces that clients bring to me I also love being able to have the freedom to work on pieces I keep in inventory! I try to go shopping weekly so I have fresh inventory but with so many custom orders I haven't had time so Ive been working on pieces I have had in my stash! Here are a few of the designs from this week!

1. Burlap and distressed bench with lift top lid- SOLD

2. French Provincial White Washed Coffee Table (available)- $275

3. Tall Trellis Patterned Gray and White Side Table- SOLD

Inbetween these projects here are two custom client orders. Love how this chair and jewelry armoire turned out! The chair is for a clients desk and the lavender jewelry armoire just needed an updated look. I don't usually do a lot of lavender pieces so it was fun to do something different. My client liked the look of {this} piece so much she had hers refinished similarly with raised 3D stenciling on the swing doors.

Until next week! - Vanessa

This week I was able to complete the bedroom set I've been working on over the last few weeks. The king sized bed was the last project out of the set and it turned out amazing! The color on all the pieces was a custom gray that I mixed myself and black antiquing. My client also sent me a picture of the finished products all set up in her room!

Another fun project from this week was a custom teal corner hutch. My client brought mercury glass knobs to swap out the outdated hardware. I did a very light antiquing wash over the teal and lightly distressed. I love how it turned out!
