Furniture Refinishing Projects April 2nd-8th Denver, CO

Another busy week in the books and I was able to work on a few client custom orders! I am almost done with a large client custom order bedroom set. This week I was able to refinish the larger dresser with mirror. The color this client selected is a custom mixed color I created. It perfectly ties in with the grays already in their bedroom. Last up will be their king size bed next week! Here is how the dresser turned out:

Next up was another client custom order. This particular piece of furniture she had purchased when she first moved to Colorado 20 years ago! It then moved from her bedroom to her sons room and she brought it to me to revamp before it transitioned into their new media room. I love when clients hang on to their old furniture! It really is amazing what a revamp of paint and hardware will do to an outdated piece. Not to mention the quality of older pieces. To get that same quality nowadays it would cost a fortune, while refinishing usually costs 1/2 to 1/3 the cost of buying new! She decided on a simple white with light distressing and to tie in with the grays in the room I hand painted the existing knobs with a gray stenciled detail.

Last up was a piece I have had in inventory for a while. I loved the simplicity of the legs and scalloped trim of this coffee table. I decided to refinish this piece with a driftwood gray stained top and white distressed bottom. Here is how it turned out:

French Provincial Shabby Chic Furniture January 22-28th Denver, Colorado

This week I worked on some really cool shabby chic French provincial style furniture pieces. These were all client owned pieces that I refinished to her customized look. This particular client is renovating their master bedroom. When we had our design consult we talked about a few different finishes that would compliment the waisncoting she was putting against the main accent wall. We settled on a greige color (grayish brown) with antiquing. I love the versatility of this color because it goes so well with both browns and grays. For the dresser she really liked the wood stained top idea to contrast against the nightstands. In addition, with all the bedroom pieces I sanded back to a white finish to add extra contrast. Lastly, was a bathroom vanity that she decided to go with a custom mixed navy with gold accents and hardware. I love how all these pieces came out! I cannot wait to see them in her space! -Vanessa

French Provincial Shabby Chic Furniture - Denver, Colorado

With curvy lines, ornate details, raised legs and timeless character what's not to love about French provincial style furniture? I usually paint these pieces classic white as I think the details speak for themselves. I love that this style is so versatile and looks beautiful in an adults bedroom just as they do in a baby's nursery. Here is a small gallery featuring some of my favorite French style furniture makeovers. Enjoy!  -Vanessa
